The Stables in Churchstow sleeps 5 people. Tucked in the countryside yet only 10 minutes’ drive from the sea, The Stables at Highwell is an absolute gem – a quirky and stunning little nook which has been lovingly created with hand finished interiors, re-purposed materials, sustainable materials and finishes ensuring the perfect escape and a comfortable stay.
A short stroll to the excellent village pub just two minutes’ walk, guests can enjoy a little luxury in the wood barrel sauna after a day of adventure, or enjoy an energetic game of tennis on the private court within the grounds, before firing up the barbecue on the patio.
Nestled in a corner of this beautiful private estate, alongside the vegetable gardens, meadows and woodland trails which surround The Stables, with chickens nearby, you may even be fortunate enough to receive a delivery of occasional fresh eggs, or fresh garden produce from James, the esteemed and hugely knowledgable resident Estate Gardener. Guests will not only fall in love with this cottage but its surroundings too. Guests will have their own private patio area to relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings. and light the barbecue for an evening under the stars.
Accommodation at The Stables
Entrance into the lobby area with space for coats and shoes.
The striking, hand finished living space has a lounge area with sofa and armchairs, Smart TV, cabinet filled with books and games, French doors which open out onto the patio.
Fully equipped kitchen with electric double oven and hob, large fridge freezer, microwave, cafetiere.
Dining table to seat four.
Utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Off the lounge is Bedroom 1 with 3ft bunk beds, chest of drawers, hanging hooks, daybed (standard single bed size, Please advise at time of booking if daybed is required in preference to the top bunk bed).
Bedroom 2 with Superking 6ft bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Family Bathroom with roll top bath, walk in rainfall shower, wash basin, heated towel rail, WC.
Within the grounds there are luxury Yurts with fantastic field kitchens available to hire, which can accommodate additional guests - please call to enquire.
Private patio area furnished with garden table and chairs, gas barbecue. (A wall mounted tie ring is provided to secure dogs if required, who may otherwise wander off.)
Tennis court and fabulous Wood Barrel Sauna, (shared with others staying within the estate).
Beyond the Stables are 5 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland walks and meadows, all within the estate and for the exclusive use of guests staying on the Highwell estate.
Guests are welcome to let a dog off the lead (and under control) in the meadow surrounding the tennis courts.
