On warm summer days, a front patio and large naturalised garden await, so have an alfresco breakfast before setting out to explore the area. There are a number of walks, cycle routes and climbs in this beautiful area, and take a trip to Upper Hulme, where you will find a pub and tea room. Less than five miles away is the town of Leek with its antique emporiums, plus the spa town of
