For a trip to the beach with your family, pop over to New Quay with its golden sandy beach ideal for building sandcastles, or take a stroll with the sand between your toes. The picturesque harbour is perfect for enjoying some fish and chips sat on the sea wall, or take one of the boat trips out to spot the bottle nose dolphins and a host of bird life. You can also enjoy a choice of dining options with restaurants, cafés and deli style shops with many specialising in fresh hand caught sea fish.
Gorwel is one of two semi-detached traditional stone built cottages set a 5-minute walk from the hamlet of Oakford where you can enjoy local walks. This beautiful property has been renovated to a high standard and offers three spacious bedrooms which have been lovingly furnished to provide a great night’s sleep. On the ground floor the spacious living room boasts a wood burner to relax in front of with a glass of wine, with reclining leather sofas for a spot of indulgence. You can celebrate special meals in the dining room, or in the evening, you can sit out in your private garden and enjoy a barbecue, listening to the babbling brook passing through.
Travelling north along this stunning coastline is Aberaeron, steeped in history and famous for its multi coloured Georgian houses. Here you can enjoy a plethora of eateries, galleries and gift shops. A 20-minute drive to Cardigan is not to be missed with many independent shops and eateries, or you could even take a trip to the theatre. For a day at the beach there are some beautiful beaches including Poppit Sands and Mwnt. Coarse fishing is available for keen fishermen at the local fishing lakes. You will find the nearest pub and restaurant 3 miles from Gorwel near Aberaeron, with the shop 1 mile from Gorwel.
