Ambleside 1 mile. A charming semi-detached, single-storey cottage superbly located in the village of Clappersgate, one mile from Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Comfortably appointed to provide cosy accommodation, this Ambleside cottage is ideal for a couple who wish to spend time together in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District. Boasting breathtaking scenery on the doorstep, this Lake District cottage is located in the former stables of the adjacent house and has a cosy living/sleeping area with a double bed, dining area and a sitting area, plus this holiday home also has a separate well-equipped kitchen and a shower room. Outside this Ambleside cottage is a shared cobbled courtyard area and across the road is a well-maintained shared lawned garden on the banks of the River Brathay, which flows into Lake Windermere, just a short distance away. Guests are welcome to bring their own watercraft and to use the launch in the garden for a memorable day out on the water. This Lake District cottage nestles under Loughrigg and you can explore this pretty area on foot, or you may wish to climb up Loughrigg Fell and enjoy the spectacular views across Ambleside to Wansfell and down to Lake Windermere. From your Ambleside cottage you can enjoy a lovely riverside walk, which takes you to the pretty hamlet of Skelwith and down to Skelwith Bridge and Chesters Cafe. The popular town of Ambleside is one mile away and has many excellent shops, restaurants and cinemas, plus the village of Hawkshead is less than 10 minutes’ drive away and has some lovely pubs and cafes serving local ales and delicious cakes. This delightful Ambleside cottage is a perfect base at any time of the year.
