April Cottage in Eckington, Worcestershire sleeps 6 people. April Cottage is a traditional Grade II listed home built in the traditional timber frame and local reddish brick style. With an abundance of kerbside appeal which continues through the pretty cottage style garden, this is a truly special Rural Retreat.
Step into the cottage through the solid oak front door and porch into an impressive flagstone floored hall, which is central to all the cottage has to offer.
At the far end of the hallway is the light and spacious modern kitchen and dining area, which has been lovingly crafted around some truly exquisite honey coloured vertical beams. Well-equipped for even the keenest chef, the kitchen is a sociable and welcoming space where you can look out across the garden and beyond or simply sit at the table and take in all the character and charm that blends seamlessly with the thoughtful modern touches that have been added throughout.
The sitting room, also located off the hallway, offers a truly warm welcome. The stunning inglenook fireplace dominates the room and even has a charming little seating nook built in next to the wood burning stove. There are plenty of sumptuous sofas and armchairs set around an original coffee table which has been lovingly made from the cottage's original front door. Across the hallway is the formal dining room with its part panelled walls, exposed beams and polished oak floor. The large dining table is the perfect place for families to gather around for those special occasions.
Upstairs the charm continues, where you will find the family bathroom with its free-standing, roll-top bath and separate walk-in shower offering a calm, relaxing haven after a day exploring the area. Guests can choose from three tastefully furnished bedrooms. Bedroom one has a king-size bed and a luxurious en-suite with freestanding bath and separate walk-in shower, whilst bedroom two has a king-size bed and bedroom three has two full size single beds.
The sunny south-west facing garden wraps around the side and rear of the cottage and is a perfect combination of lawned areas and wild flower planting around the established magnolia, mulberry, quince and walnut trees. The barbecue, fire pit and outdoor dining area are ideal for alfresco dining or simply enjoying the birdsong with your morning coffee.
The private driveway allows off-road parking for up to three cars and there is also secure storage for bikes and an electrical vehicle charging point (payable direct to owner via an app)
April Cottage can be booked alongside The Dairy to accommodate a further two guests, subject to availability.
