Orchard House in Mathry can be found in the quiet hilltop village of Mathry, once an Iron Age defensive fort, Orchard House has an altogether more peaceful past. Constructed in 1991, the house was built in the grounds of the Old Rectory orchard. Today, only the lovely stone wall enclosures, with arched doorways, provide a reminder of the forgotten garden.
This spacious, detached holiday home is comfortably furnished with practicality in mind, perfect for families to relax and unwind after a day exploring the National Park, walking the coastal path or splashing about in the beautiful coves and beaches, only a short drive from your door. From the large contemporary kitchen/dining room, garden room and living room, to the variety of bedroom sizes, you will find plenty of space and flexibility for all of your party. Enjoy family gatherings or games in the larger rooms, or break away to savour quiet moments. This is an excellent choice for a holiday base.The addition of a garden room at the rear of the property is perfect for boots and coats, pet care and garden-based activities, with two large garden windows, two roof windows and patio doors leading to the barbecue area. There is plenty of parking for three cars in your private drive and the shallow steps up to the house are easy to negotiate. The enclosed garden surrounds the house and have mature trees and established borders. In a sheltered corner sits a huge rustic picnic table and bench, perfect for dining al fresco.
With a wonderful tea room and pub just on your doorstep, and the cafés and restaurants of
St Davids, just a 15 minute drive, you may wish to choose to dine out every day of your holiday, enjoying the local produce and unique delicacies that Pembrokeshire has to offer. With its splendid cathedral dating back to the 12th century, Bishop’s Palace, cafés and independent retailers, there is plenty to keep you occupied for days of browsing. Don’t miss the country market on a Thursday between April and September. In Oriel y Parc, you will find lots of information about the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, useful maps and guidebooks as well as an art gallery and café.
