The Little Fleece - sleeps 5

The Little Fleece in Stroud, Gloucestershire sleeps 5 people. This traditional Cotswold stone building was once a bookshop. Although its exterior is modest and unadorned, inside reveals a three bedroom house full of original features. Exposed beams, beautiful limestone fireplaces and wooden floors topped with antique rugs are just some of the highlights of this property. The steep winding staircase leads to three bedrooms, one of which has a vaulted ceiling and views over the rooftops towards the fields.

Enjoy your morning coffee in the ‘snug’ room before heading out into Painswick. Wander through its narrow streets, passing quaint old buildings made from local stone as well as boutique shops and traditional tearooms. Just outside the town, you’ll find plenty of countryside for rambling. Loop onto the Cotswold Way long distance footpath for day-long hikes. 

For something a little different, take a 30 minute drive to Cheltenham Race Course. Enjoy a day at the races and head into Cheltenham itself for dinner in one of the spa town’s many restaurants.
