Shepherds Cottage in Lochgilphead sleeps 3 people. Following extensive renovation over a number of years, Shepherds Cottage has been substantially renovated and transformed from a traditional Shepherds cottage into a modern home.

Set on a quiet road in the village of Inverliever just outside Ford, this property would be ideal for walking or cycling holidays.

Entering the property through the back door, you come straight into the contemporary kitchen, which contains an electric oven and hob, so after a trip to the supermarket to stock up you can get busy with preparing the evening meal.

Beyond here you will find the dining and sitting area; an open-plan living space divided seamlessly by the free standing staircase to the middle of the room, with the sofas positioned around the wood burning stove so you can achieve maximum comfort in front of the fire and a favourite film.

The rest of the ground floor is made up of two twin bedrooms, each having a wardrobe for storage, and there is also the main family bathroom which has a Jacuzzi bath feature for you to indulge in.

Head up the stairs and straight into the double room with sloping ceilings and Velux windows to let the natural light pour in, and enjoy the ease of having an en-suite bathroom next door with your own shower.

To the outside of the property there is a patio area with outdoor furniture, and a large back garden, as well as the private use of the walled garden to the front of the neighbouring shepherds hut, as they are owned by the same owner.

There is a outside drying area and fully enclosed, lockable storage area for bikes, canoes, fishing gear in the bothy next door.

The small village of Ford is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and open spaces just ready to be explored, presenting a great opportunity for those keen cyclists to get out on the bikes and test themselves on those Scottish hills.

The nearest town with pubs and shops is Kilmartin, which is best known as the centre of Kilmartin Glen; an area with one of the richest concentrations of prehistoric monuments and historical sites in Scotland, so not only can you pick up your essentials from the shops, you can pick up a bit of history too!

A little further south to Cairnbaan will bring you to the Scottish Beaver Trail in Knapdale Forest for a fantastic family day out where you can try and spot the beavers that are now thriving in that area after being reintroduced in 2009.
