Bayeux Cottage in Battle sleeps 10 people in 5 bedrooms. Bayeux Cottage in Battle is fantastically positioned right in the hub of the historic town centre of Battle, a famous area which was once blitzed by the 1066 Norman Conquest, nestled within the gorgeous High Weald AONB.

This cottage dates all the way back to the 17th century and is perfect for a large family looking to explore wonderous areas of Sussex for a memorable getaway gathering.

Enter into the dwelling to find a charming abode filled with heaps of character and historical period features, mixing traditional fixtures with contemporary amenities, a one of a kind retreat with five beautiful bedrooms.

Settle in for an evening in the spacious lounge, displaying many themes spread throughout the whole property including intimate low ceilings, exposed beams and stone, and whitewashed walls, here you can grab a blanket and unwind on one of the sofas with a glass of wine as the electric log effect fire creates a cosy evening atmosphere.

After a long day of exploring the nearby attractions, rustle up a family meal in the well-equipped kitchen, a contemporary space featuring wooden floors, a lovely central island with a breakfast bar, a wine cooler, and a Smart TV alongside all the cooking equipment needed.

Dinners can be enjoyed in the fantastic dining room, where a grand formal dining table can be used to gather all your guests for a memorable evening meal, accompanied by a huge feature inglenook fireplace and a cupboard with necessities for the children.

Also downstairs is a handy cloakroom and a stunning enclosed garden with bistro seating for a morning coffee and outdoor dining found up three stone steps, perfect for an alfresco meal in the summer.

The first-floor is comprised of a king-size with an en-suite shower next to another pretty double and separate family bathroom, and a few small steps takes you to the master king-size, a magnificent space benefiting from a large walk-in shower, Smart TV and a sleigh bed!

Make your way up to the second floor to find two rooms with sloped ceilings, One is a lovely double and the other a snug room with a small double bed.

Everything you need can be found right on the cottage doorstep, with Battle high street up the road, filled with a plethora of convenience stores, boutique shops, local butchers, organic produce, takeaways and delicious tea parlours, as well as being a stroll away from Battle Museum of Local History, the bustling Market Square, and the majestic ruins and battlegrounds of Battle Abbey.

When you've soaked up enough of what Battle has to offer, even more fun can be found at the ancient seaside town of Hastings, home to a selection of gorgeous restaurants, a dramatic castle on the high hill, and several stunning theatres.
