The Bakehouse was built in 1902, this traditional Victorian style building originally accommodated officials tasked with engineering the six magnificent Elan Valley Dams nestled in the nearby hills. The glorious reservoirs brought further prosperity to Rhayader and with it, first a butchers and then The Bakehouse, occupying the first floor. Using a rope and pulley to lift the flour, the old hatch can still be seen on the property. The Bakehouse has been meticulously converted to capture the spirit of a bustling mid Wales market town. Standing in the heart of Rhayader, this generous first floor apartment offers convenience and comfort as standard as well as flexible accommodation with its zip and link bed options.
