Gites de Jardin in Salles are semi-detached cottages which sit in the heart of the small village of Salles lès Aulnay. Nestled adjacent to the owner’s home, they share a wooden decked swimming pool and lovely walled gardens. Maison Fleurie (ref Fcentral heating204) features exposed beams, original stone walls and a wood burner in the open plan living space. The property has been renovated to include all mod-cons as well as a large flat screen TV and internet. Les Fleurs (ref Fcentral heating205), also furnished with contemporary facilities, enjoys a lovely conservatory at the back of the house which opens out onto the west facing terrace and gardens beyond.

This is a very popular area in France, benefiting from plenty of sunshine and hot summer days, perfect for sitting by the swimming pool and looking out over the lovely gardens. The more active can walk to the village of Salles lès Aulnay with its bars, restaurants, shops, supermarket and weekly market. There are several other attractive villages locally, and the town of Saint-Jean-d’Angély, 18km, has a beach lake, pedalos and entertainment. The famous sites such as La Rochelle, the islands and the distilleries of Cognac offer a variety of entertainment, whilst Futuroscope theme park is just under an hour and a half to the north.
