Uppergate Cottage in Conwy sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms. Uppergate Cottage in Conwy a lovely, airy, holiday cottage makes a wonderful base from which to explore the area. Boasting super views of Conwy Castle from the rear bedroom, it was formerly home to one of the many fishermen who plied their trade from Conwy quay. Located within the town walls in the historic town of Conwy, it is just a few yards from the Upper Gate which gives direct access via steps to the town walls which you can walk along for most of its length. The walls, and Conwy Castle were built by King Edward I and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From here you can explore the town on foot, as well as a huge range of cafés and restaurants serving delicious Welsh produce, a butcher’s shop, a vast range of individual shops in the cobbled high street, you’ll find the historic houses of Plas Mawr (Cadw),
Aberconwy House (National Trust), Britain’s Smallest House, and the Royal Cambrian Academy art gallery. You can take a boat trip from the quay out into the Conwy Estuary – in fact you’ll be breathless just standing still! Why not enjoy a trip to the Isle of Anglesey, or explore the beauty of Snowdonia National Park, both within easy driving distance? The Victorian seaside resort of
Llandudno is just 3 miles away, and is home to the famous Great Orme with its tramway and the UK’s longest cable car ride, Wales longest pier, two beaches, Punch and Judy, and you might even catch a visiting West End show at the Venue Cymru theatre. To the south, the wooded hillsides of the Conwy Valley beckon, where you can catch a wave, or just a coffee, at Surf Snowdonia – the UK’s first inland surfing lagoon, explore the Gwydir Forest around
Llanrwst, or wander round picturesque Betws-y-coed, home to Zip World Fforest – great for adrenaline junkies! Beach ¼ mile. You will find the nearest shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards from Uppergate Cottage in Conwy.
