Details of The Coach House
The Coach House in High Urpeth, near Chester-le-Street sleeps 10 people in 5 bedrooms. The Coach House near Chester-le-Street entrance is through the beautiful double height hallway which has a bespoke bookcase and an oak staircase. The hallway leads to a downstairs super king-size bedroom with zip and link beds and a shower room, ideal for visitors with limited mobility. The indoor, heated exercise pool complete with jet system, sauna and wellness facilities has doors opening up onto the beautiful rear garden. The living/dining room has amazing windows which overlook the beautifully kept gardens and the distant view. Guests will find some great features including an open fireplace with an original surround and hearth as well as a large dining table, ideal for family meals and celebrations. There is even a record player and a docking station. The kitchen is high end, quirky and fun with multi-coloured units, excellent quality work surfaces and SMEG appliances, and overlooks the garden. On the first floor there is a second family bathroom, a double bedroom, a king-size bedroom, another double bedroom with zip and link beds and large en-suite shower room, and the master suite with king-size bed, dressing area and an en-suite with large shower cubicle and freestanding copper bath tub.
To the rear of the property there are extensive gardens and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view over the fields or rustle up a barbecue on a summer’s evening. There is also ample space for storing bikes. With room to park at least four cars at the front, The Coach House boasts all of the facilities needed for a fun filled, family get together, super celebration or just a well-earned break in a great location. With so many facilities and amenities inside the property, guests may struggle to actually leave the grounds!
The Coach House is hidden away in a quiet village in County Durham yet only a couple of miles from
Beamish, 11 miles from
Durham, 8 miles from the Metrocentre and 10 miles from
Newcastle city centre. This really is a great location for exploring the North East. Families and guests of all ages will love a trip to Beamish, the open air living museum that tells the story of life in the North East in days gone by. A full day out with plenty to see and do, with an ice rink at Christmas, year round entertainment and plenty of places to eat including one of the best fish and chip shops in the North East. The cathedral city of Durham is just a few miles further and is steeped in tradition and history. The famous cathedral and castle dominate the centre of the city along with many restaurants, bistros and cafés along the high street, and overlooking the banks of the river. The university campuses and halls of residence are dotted around the city too, making The Coach House a great location for guests with friends and family who are studying at the university.
To the east, guests will be able to visit some of the beautiful award-winning beaches of the north east coastline, including
Whitley Bay and Tynemouth which is famous for its water sports facilities. The Metrocentre is only a 15-minute drive away and is a great place to visit on a rainy day for the perfect shopping experience. The centre of Newcastle for The Sage and the Laing Art Gallery is just a 20-minute drive away. For guests who enjoy concerts and cricket, the Durham County Cricket Ground is based in nearby Chester-le-Street which is around a 10-minute drive from the village. Right on the doorstep, guests who enjoy walking and cycling will find some great footpaths, cyclepaths and walking routes to explore including the very popular Coast to Coast Cycle Route which is literally just minutes from the garden. You will find the nearest pub and restaurant 2 miles from The Coach House near Chester-le-Street, with the shop 1 mile from The Coach House. A beach can be found 13 miles.
