It is nestled in the heart of the picturesque and historical village of Thorney, which has routes dating back to 500 AD and started life as a Saxon settlement.

Perfectly placed for those wishing to take a break from driving, Thorney has very good public transport links servicing Peterborough, Norwich and even Great Yarmouth. With a pick up point at Peterborough train station, you can take a trip to London and be in the heart of this exciting city within an hour, while still enjoying the peace and quiet that Stable Cottage offers after a long day’s sightseeing.

Peterborough is well worth a visit as there is lots to explore, including great places to eat and shop. Medieval Norwich with its imposing Norman castle, offers numerous museums, galleries, theatres, boat trips and historical walking tours.
