Details of Roadside Cottage
Beech Cottage in
Stonehaven sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms. Beech Cottage in Stonehaven a cosy cottage has been completely refurbished to a very good standard and lies in a peaceful position at the edge of the owner’s 350 acre farm. With a lovely totally enclosed garden to the side and back of the house, the southerly aspect makes it an ideal place to relax in the sun after a day out sightseeing.
Although you may feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, the cottage is in fact just 3½ miles away from Inverbervie, with its shingly beach and good coastal walks, shops, cafés and other facilities. It’s also just 9 miles away from the popular market town of Stonehaven with its own outdoor heated pool (open seasonally), marina, golf course and lots of good shops and eateries. Take a trip to nearby Dunnottar Castle – fought over by Wallace and Cromwell, it was used as a set for Franco Zeffirelli’s 1991 film Hamlet. If you’re lucky, you may even see puffins or dolphins from the castle ramparts. Explore the clean sandy beaches along this coastline towards
Montrose with their fair share of wildlife – porpoises are regularly seen along the coast, or visit the cities of
Aberdeen and
Dundee both within easy reach. For a complete contrast in scenery, inland the Angus Glens is a magnet for hillwalkers. The beach is 5 miles.
