Riverside Cottage, aptly named because of the river flowing directly behind the property, offers a picturesque and relaxing backdrop to your holiday. You can sit outside on the small patio at the rear and listen to the water flowing by.
This contemporary holiday cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard. If you’re a couple or a family looking for a quality property in a town centre location, then this property is just perfect. The ground floor, featuring wooden floors throughout, is home to an open-plan living room/dining room with patio doors leading to the river view patio at the rear. The modern kitchen is very well equipped. Upstairs you’ll find two good sized bedrooms. The shower room offers a contemporary feel and features a shower cubicle and heated towel rail.
Regulars to Cockermouth will know all about its vibrant town centre and its abundance of fantastic pubs serving locally produced cask ales and fine food and is just 0.2 miles away, so you can leave the car behind and explore on foot. Cockermouth has a great selection of dining choices within a five- minute walk, including gastro pubs, Italian bistros, independent coffee shops and fast food; there’s so much choice you may decide not to cook at all and save on washing up! You have great walks along the river which prove very popular with tourists and locals. You can visit Wordsworth House (0.2 miles), the birthplace of William Wordsworth, then feed the ducks in the memorial gardens.
Within 0.3 miles you’ll reach Kirkgate Arts if you fancy taking in some performing arts on your holiday. Nestled beneath the castle walls you’ll find the famous Jennings Brewery tour offering tastings and bottled beers to take away, or take a swim at the local leisure pool. Surrounded on three sides by the Lake District National Park means you get the best of both worlds. Choose between the mountainous scenery of The Lakes, or the sandy beaches of the West Cumbrian Coastline.
A short drive away is Bassenthwaite Lake, a picturesque lake with a stunning backdrop of the iconic Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in England offering fantastic walking and cycle routes as well as an osprey viewpoint.
