Ulverston sleeps 2 people in 1 bedroom. Railway Cottage near Ulverston is nestled in the pretty village of Lindal in Furness, on the edge of the Lake District. The first floor apartment is conveniently located above the owners’ small pub serving local ales and homemade food (closed Monday and Tuesday), so you won’t have to wander far to enjoy some traditional Cumbrian specialities. If walking is something you are keen to do then look no further, there is an abundance of walking routes to discover straight from the cottage door.
This dog friendly property has a small enclosed courtyard to enjoy, and through the front door and up the stairs you are welcomed into a large open plan living space. There is a well-equipped kitchen, two sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed (for flexible sleeping arrangements), and a dining area. There is a modern bathroom and the double bedroom is contemporary in design and has ample storage space.
The busy market town of Ulverston is just five minutes’ drive away and is inundated with old, historic buildings and cobbled streets. It is also the start of the 70-mile Cumbrian Way footpath. Ulverston is also known worldwide for Conishead Priory, an impressive Victorian Gothic mansion, now a spectacular Buddhist centre which provides daily meditation sessions. The South Lakes Safari Zoo is also only a five minute drive away, one of Cumbria’s most successful tourist attractions and is not to be missed!
You are spoilt for choices for places to explore in the surrounding area. The large town of Barrow-in-Furness is a short drive away, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, and a cinema and golf course. Newby Bridge is 20 minutes’ drive away where you will find the Lakes Aquarium and
Windermere Lake Cruises, taking you on boat rides across England’s largest lake. You will find the nearest shop 2 miles from Railway Cottage near
