Allonby has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is located between Maryport and Silloth. It is just 1 mile away and can be accessed via a walk along the seafront, just 100 yards from the front door. The nearby beach offers a lovely stretch of sand where you can enjoy the fresh air and exercise your four-legged friends.
In the centre you’ll find a chip shop, a couple of great pubs serving food and local ales, a popular ice-cream shop and a kid’s playing field with football goals and climbing frames. For those seeking more active outdoor pursuits, you are only a 10-mile drive to the Lake District National Park with fantastic walking, climbing and off-road cycling for even the keenest of outdoor adventurers. Just 16 miles away is Lake Bassenthwaite, home to the famous Lakes Distillery, offering guided tours and tastings.
