This also provides a close view of the nature reserve which is just a short walk away, a centre of excellence for conservation and sustainability, and recognised as one of the best places in the UK to observe certain species of wildlife. The village of Lakenheath lies close by and offers lots of choices of places to eat. Also close by lies
Ely, with its majestic cathedral known as ‘The Ship of The Fens’.
Ely also offers various markets, lots of places to shop and eat and a fantastic Stained Glass Museum. If you can tear yourself away from this wonderful small city, Ely offers great rail links, making for a great day out in the University city of
Cambridge. The famous Fitzwilliam Museum is just 20 minutes away, the medieval city of
Norwich with its imposing Norman castle is just under an hour away, and London, with its many attractions is just an hour and 15 minutes away.
