Just 6 miles from the popular seaside village of Allonby, there is easy access to amazing beaches for walking and horse riding. There is a nature reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest at Mawbray Banks, with rare natterjack toads and great crest newts. The northern Lakes and fells can be easily explored from here, including the beautiful Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater lakes, you will be surrounded by stunning scenery wherever you go. The market town of
Cockermouth, and the ever popular and bustling town of
Keswick, are both about a 20-minute drive away and are both definitely worth a visit. Nearby Calbeck Common is also great for walking and horse riding, and guests are welcome to bring their horse on holiday as stabling, grazing and a sand arena are available on site. There is a popular pub serving food in nearby Bromfield (pre-booking is recommended), and Sandylands luxury swimming pool and
