Details of Holmefield House

Holmefield House is a detached property, adjacent to the owner’s home, which has a large, well-equipped kitchen and characterful bedrooms – some with their own roll top baths in the room. The living room with a cosy open fire and the spacious dining room provide social space for entertaining. Set in the picturesque Peak District National Park, mid-way between Bakewell and
Matlock, and only a 5-minute drive from Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Holmefield House is set in over an acre of mature gardens with uninterrupted views over the Derwent Valley and the historic Peak Rail steam trains.
The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, they both offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car, which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family, with show caves, a nature trail, water gardens and the Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the
High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north is Chatsworth House and Park, along with the market town of Bakewell. Ideally placed for exploring this beautiful region, both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak are within easy reach from Bakewell, and the theme park, Alton Towers, is only a short drive away.
Holmefield House near Matlock in Derbyshire has the added benefit of a delightful patio area overlooking wonderful views – an ideal place to spend time over breakfast as you plan your days ahead, or sipping a glass of wine after a long day spent exploring.
