The peaceful setting and the panoramic views enjoyed from the lodge and balcony are truly awe-inspiring. As soon as you arrive and see the view across the glen below and beyond to the mountains, you’ll be over the moon with your choice to stay at Highland Glen Lodges. This lodge is an excellent choice for a Highland holiday, here you are just outside the village of Rogart and not far from the coastal towns of
Golspie and
Dornoch (both have fantastic sandy beaches and world-renown links golf courses). You’re also not far from the town of Lairg, known as ‘the crossroads of the Highlands’. You can explore all corners of the Northern Highlands easily and enjoyably.
From the lodge you can easily access the NC500 to explore the east coast or take some of the best roads in the UK across to the north and west coasts via Lairg, again joining up with the NC500. The surroundings are wonderful, and there are many local walks to enjoy during your stay. The wildlife is also some of the best in the UK, largely due to this part of Scotland being so sparsely populated. Indeed, the Northern Highlands are considered by many to be the last great wilderness of Europe- there are Golden Eagles that nest across the glen from the lodge (so look out for them soaring whilst you relax on the balcony) and there are resident Ospreys down the valley at the Loch Fleet Nature Reserve. Red Deer, Pine Marten, Otters and many other iconic species are resident here too.
The lodge itself is spacious and comfortably accommodates up to four guests. There’s a fantastic open plan living space which enjoys the gable end views and access to the balcony. There’s a double bedroom and twin room, and a spacious bathroom. This lodge and its location tick all the boxes for a Highland holiday. A beach can be found 10 miles.
