Hackfall Cottage near Masham is set on the edge of the village; this semi-detached cottage has been carefully converted to provide lovely holiday accommodation from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Just a short distance from the National Park and set in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property lies just 3 miles from the renowned market town of Masham, home to the Black Sheep Brewery and a selection of country shops and pubs. For those wishing to spoil themselves, book afternoon tea at Swinton Park Hotel. The city of Ripon, with its cathedral, is just 7 miles, and also well worth a visit is the spa town of Harrogate 17 miles where you will find enough shops to satisfy the most ardent shopaholics.

For those who have an appetite for history, the ancient city of York is approximately an hour’s drive away. Take the time to enjoy Hackfall Woods in Grewelthorpe, which is owned by the Woodland Trust – you can stroll through these woods to reach the local pub and enjoy a pint once you’re there.
