Shingle between rock groynes and backed by the iconic white cliffs, at low tide you can explore the rock pools. You can enjoy a spot of sea fishing locally, without a license. The beautifully restored, Grade II listed Art Deco lido, originally built in 1938, reopened its doors 30 years later, after a magnificent refurbishment described by the Telegraph as ’particularly glorious with its elegant curved lines, rather like a stately ocean liner’. Brighton is just over 5 miles away, you can take the bus and enjoy the scenic ride along the coast! Have fish and chips at Brighton Pier, visit The Royal Pavilion, the Prince Regents private pleasure palace, or take a glide to the top of the i360 tower. Treat yourself to a vineyard tour, Rathfinny, Ridgeview and Albourne Estate are all worth a visit. Bring your passport and take a trip over to France from Newhaven. The beach is 1 mile from Des Res near Brighton. With the shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile from Des Res.
