Details of Brambles
Brambles is located in the conservation village of Gunthorpe and just 4 miles from the popular seaside village of Blakeney with its picturesque quay. Brambles provides a cosy and relaxing holiday home and base from which to explore all that the region has to offer. Holkham Hall and Park is close by and is just one example of the many stately homes and National Trust properties that the area has to offer. Close by, the town of
Holt, famous for its artisan shops and great places to eat, is the perfect place to just potter. Those seeking beautiful beaches will not be disappointed as Wells-next-the-sea, with it’s famous quay and narrow gauge railway, lie close by, as does Holkham beach which has featured in many productions, including Shakespeare in Love. To the east lies the seaside towns of Cromer with its sandy beach, pier and end of pier show, Amazonia Zoo and traditional promenade, and
Sheringham with its pebble beach and busy market. To the west lies bracing Brancaster and, for all the fun of the fair,
Hunstanton with it’s wide sandy beach that really does seem to go on for miles. Boat trips to see the seals are available from the villages of Morston and Blakeney, and really are a must do, as is a day trip to the Norfolk Broads where you can hire a day boat or join an organised cruise along the relaxing waterways, a must for lovers of plants and wildlife. Thursford, with its famous Christmas Spectacular show is very close and makes for a great excuse for a pre-Christmas getaway. And, for a spot of shopping, Christmas or otherwise, head to the medieval city of
Norwich, with its numerous museums and Norman castle. Add in numerous nature reserves such as Pensthorpe and Cley Marshes, bountiful bird watching opportunities and great walks and cycling routes, and you will quickly see why Norfolk proves such a popular destination. In fact, you may have to return to Brambles again, just to fit it all in! Beach 4 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 2
