The National Trust interactive visitor centre in Aberdaron promotes the many attractions of the Llŷn Peninsula, such as the ancient church of St Hywyn’s in Aberdaron which was the last stopping-off point for pilgrims at Bardsey Island, to the Wales Coastal Path for wonderful walks and nature spotting, ideal for those outdoor lovers. Close by are the bustling popular resorts of Abersoch and
Pwllheli, there are miles of wonderful beaches to explore with a vast array of water sports on offer across the LlÅ·n Peninsula.
Just under 3 miles away is Porthor beach known for its whistling sands; the sound is created due to the unique texture and size of the sand particles. There are only two beaches in the whole of Europe where you can experience this for yourselves, and you’ll have one just down the road. There is wildlife in abundance, pods of dolphins, seals, and birdlife to spot. You’ll be truly captivated by a visit in this region.
