Machynlleth are two beautiful slate cottages 1 Aberdulas and 2 Aberdulas. The two cottages boast original stone feature walls with a fusion of antique and contemporary décor; additionally, the properties are served by ample off-road parking, gorgeous views of the hills and each have their own private patio with outdoor seating next to the river Deri, making for a great place to relax after a day of activities. 1 Aberdulas sleeps up to seven guests with three bedrooms and a bathroom, whilst 2 Aberdulas can sleep up to five with two bedrooms and a bathroom, or alternatively, if you’re travelling with two families or a larger group, why not book both cottages together?
Corris is a picturesque former slate mining village, it has a pub which serves very good food, an independent shop/café and beautiful walks. In the middle of the village there is a famous steam railway and museum. The village is five miles from the historic town of Machynlleth, an enchanting market town with shops, antique emporiums, cafés, restaurants, organic gardens and a thriving art scene. Machynlleth Comedy Festival, a warm-up for Edinburgh, is held annually in April and welcomes acts and visitors from around the world.
Machynlleth is located within the UNESCO Dyfi Valley Biosphere, the surrounding area is a haven for wildlife with a wealth of forest and woodland and the area is famous for birdwatching, including the Dyfi Osprey Project. The beautiful seaside town of Aberdyfi is only a short distance away. Cader Idris, part of the Snowdonia mountain range, is easily accessible near the town of
Dolgellau, with breath-taking views on the way. The whole area is famous for walking, hiking and has a thriving mountain biking scene, at places such as Coed Brenin Forest Park and Climachx Mountain bike trail near Corris.
Foel Friog Picnic site is a riverside picnic site which is off the beaten track at Aberllenefenni near Corris. There is a large flat grassy area for children to play and a rocky outcrop Travel a little further to coast, The Dyfi Valley opens wide as it approaches the Cardigan Bay Coast and ends in sandy beaches and dunes. It cradles the westerly spur of Powys, Ceredigion north of
Aberystwyth, and the southern rim of Snowdonia National Park. With so much to see and do in the area, 1 and 2 Aberdulas are a great getaway for all the family or a small group of friends looking for an adventure or to relax and chill out. The beach is 15 miles.
