If history is more up your street, it's well worth a visit to Machrie Moor Stone Circles, which are remnants from the Bronze Age, and can be found in
Blackwaterfoot.
Brodick Castle, Gardens and Country Park has the pleasure of being the only island country park in Britain, set near the peak of Goat Fell, these formal garden, woodland and waterfalls are on the east of the island. Talking of Goat Fell, this is the highest peak of Arran, and stands at a smidge under 3000 ft above sea-level.
There are plenty of outdoor activities for you to try during your holiday. You can give gorge walking and rock climbing a go. Or explore the sea with some sea kayaking; there are also hidden waterfalls, plunge pools, natural slides, rugged peaks, coastal crags and pretty coves for you to find.

Keen walkers can enjoy a forest walk to the fabulous Glenashdale Falls accessed beside the house. Beyond the falls lie a network of many miles of great walks over hills and through forests along forest tracks. It is within walking distance of all the amenities in Whiting Bay, which include a bar, restaurants, coffee shop, post office, newsagents and bowling green. There is also an 18-hole golf course.
