Details of Watermill House
Watermill House in Calver, near Bakewell, Derbyshire sleeps 8 people in 3 bedrooms. Watermill House near Bakewell is situated directly on the riverbank in the lovely village of Calver; this property is within easy reach of good shopping and eateries, and is the most relaxing, wonderful place in which to enjoy time away from it all with family and friends.
Watermill House boasts three bedrooms, each with its own luxury en-suite facilities, a large living room with direct views over the river from the large windows, and a spectacular kitchen/dining room. There is even your very own cinema/games room which includes a cinema screen and projector.
Within this lovingly restored old forge, one of the most striking features is the chimney, thought to have stood on this site from the 1830s. In 2002, the whole property was completely rebuilt to a high specification using local hand-dressed stone. The kitchen area offers an island unit with granite worktops, and is the ideal space for a get-together whilst looking out onto the river through the two deep-sided windows. With the high vaulted ceilings and roof lights, this area offers a wonderful place in which to spend time together, and also has the benefit of doors opening onto a large private river terrace. From here you can admire breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside and immediately over the river, and this space is perfect for sitting out and socialising with friends and family.
Within the shared grounds there is access to a small communal gym, and for extra pampering whilst on holiday, you can visit the health and beauty salon, which can also be found in Calver Mill grounds.
Watermill House is in a brilliant location for outdoor enthusiasts, who can enjoy walking along the Curbar Edge, Froggatt Edge and Baslow Edge from where there are amazing far-reaching views. Just a couple of minutes’ walk from the house, you will find the convenience of a fine local pub serving food, alongside a quaint tea room and gift shop.
Eyam, and the slightly larger village of Baslow, are both just a 5-minute drive away and offer a good selection of amenities. The popular town of Bakewell is close by, as is magnificent Chatsworth House
and its grounds, which can also be accessed on foot from nearby Baslow. Nearby you will also find the historic houses of Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall
