Crantock House in Newquay is situated just a short walk from the centre town and the stunning Fistral Beach; this terraced holiday cottage is the perfect base for families or friends looking to holiday together in this dramatic town, on the North Cornwall Coast. Newquay has several stunning beaches and attractions including a zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium, cinema, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, boating lake, parks, gardens and dramatic cliff top walks, as well as restaurants, cafés and shops. Surf schools are available locally, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport with the local town surfers and world champions. The working harbour is also within walking distance and has a great waterfront restaurant, a sheltered sandy beach and two resident seals that visit daily. Sea fishing trips can be booked directly from the quay on one of the many day boats. Perhaps bring home some fish and enjoy a barbecue in the courtyard, or for that real treat, why not have one on the beach?
The Gannel Estuary, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a beautiful, sheltered estuary and a relaxing alternative to the beaches. Truro

Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambiance of this traditional working fishing village. A flat walking and cycling trail links the town to Wadebridge and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel Estuary. Bike hire is available at both ends. Perhaps cycle from Wadebridge to Padstow and tuck in to some fish and chips on the harbour before the ride home.
Newquay provides the ideal base to explore further afield, with the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project
